With the aid of Google Maps and information sourced from Dvorzsák's 1877 gazetteer [digitized copies available for free at Family search], distinctive maps were designed to illustrate the religious parishes for the major religions in Hungary. In instances where not every village had a church or synagogue, it becomes necessary to broaden your search into neighboring villages. These maps serve as valuable tools to address such situations.

These gazetteer maps are organized into eight (8) administrative divisions that existed during the Kingdom of Hungary from 1886-1920:
Evangelical-Lutheran Gazetteer Map
Updated 22 May 2025: This gazetteer map is complete for Hungary.
Greek Catholic Gazetteer Map
Updated 11 Jul 2026: This gazetteer map is partially complete for administrative divisions 4 and 5.
Jewish Gazetteer Map
Updated 24 Apr 2024: This gazetteer map covers all of the digitized records available on FamilySearch for Jewish communities or synagogues in present-day Hungary and Slovakia.
Archival availability for records from Bihor and Satu Mare counties in Romania is also available.
Reformed Gazetteer Map
Updated 29 Sep 2025: This gazetteer map is complete for administrative division 4.
Roman Catholic Gazetteer Map
Updated 3 Nov 2025: This gazetteer map is nearly complete for Hungary.
